Sad ending for his World Cup

Ronaldinhoworldcup2006According to the fans, the experts and the coaches, Ronaldinho was meant to be the best player in this World Cup Germany 2006. But he wasn’t. What’s more, Brazil disappointed their fans and lost to France with a goal scored by Thierry Henry.

Is there an explanation for such a fail? Honestly, we don’t know. I believe he is still the best player in the World, but something happened to him during the Cup and he just wasn’t the same player that shines in Barcelona.

He will still have another chance to prove he’s the best, four years from now, in the World Cup of SouthAfrica. Until then, we’ll live trying to explain what happened that night, when Zidane was the best and Ronaldinho was just another guy running on the pitch.

Making history in the Champions League

ronal.jpgThe whole world expects him to shine in the 2006 World Cup in Germany. But he's also focused in something very important: The Champions League. Indeed, Ronaldinho lead Barcelona to the semifinals of the tournament, where they will face AC Milan.

In fact, this moment is crucial for Ronaldinho and his team. Barcelona needs an international title from a long time ago. And the Brazilian star fans want to see him proving he can lead a team to reach the highest glory in Europe.

So, we wish good luck to the squad in their match against the Italian side.

Barcelona win over Mallorca

Ronaldinho had a great performance, as usual. But this time Lionel Messi was the hero. He scored twice against Real Mallorca and Barcelona got another victory in the Spanish League. The first goal was made by Giuly. The blaugrana team is recovering their best form after a surprising defeat agaisnt Zaragoza last Thursday.

Ronaldinho is improving his level as well, and the Brazilian fans are happy to see their top star in a good shape.

Ronaldinho and the World Cup

I read that Ronaldinho is so important for Brazil that coach Parreira prefers that FC. Barcelona gets eliminated form the competitions so the player would have more time to rest. That can sound an unfair comment, and maybe some people could even complain to FIFA. Even though Parreira has some point (we should remember how tired some players were in the last World Cup), wishing the defeat of a team is not the solution to preserv the energy and condition of players. The schedules must be re organized in order to limit the number of games a player makes in a year, so we will have no more problems like this.

Ronaldinho is already a legend

Watching at the last game between Barcelona and Bilbao, I just cannot deny the talent and class that Ronnie shows in every move he makes. The ball transforms into a magic rocket on his feet. The game becomes exciting, surprising, fast, unpredictible…

I think he deserves all the awards he got on 2005. He is the N°1 in the whole world. There are many candidates for the second place, but all of them are far away form Ronaldinho. Really amazing.

Pele, Maradona or Ronaldinho?

After the last season, I have heard a lot of comments comparing Ronaldinho with the most famous and successful players in history: Pele and Maradona. And no one laughs at it. I think he is, indeed, in the same level as the two legends.

Even Pele admited that Ronaldinho is better than… Maradona. Yes, it’s funny that maybe they will never admit to lose their rank of Football Kings. Still, for me, the young Barcelona player is better than the two of them. He has the best ball contol I’ve ever seen, plus a gift the two old stars don’t have: He is humble. And that makes him the best.
